Deciding what to put on your website can be a daunting task. The following are some tips to help you provide useful information for visitors to your website that will also perform well with search engine rankings.

Look at websites for other businesses in your industry – both suppliers and competitors.
This can help you decide on the kind of website you need and the kind of information you need to supply on your website.

Look at some of your favourite websites.
What is it about those sites that keep you going back and how could you incorporate some of those features in your website.

Research keywords.
If ranking high in search engine results is important to you then you need to start looking at the keywords you would like to appear for before you start writing the text for your website.

There are many useful tools on the Internet for keyword research such as
Google’s Keyword Tool. To find others just do a search for “keyword research tool”. If you would like assistance with your keyword research please fill out the keyword research form and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Once you have decided on your keywords make sure you include them in the text for your site. If you are using headings to break up your text, try to use the keywords in these headings as well.

Break up long paragraphs of text with pictures, bullet points or section headings.
Large paragraphs of text can appear both boring and daunting to users so it is best to give them what they need to know in a concise and easy to skim manner.

Try to have a good balance between the amount of text and pictures.
Websites with too many pictures and little text are hard for search engines to find which will affect how you rank when people look for businesses in your industry.

On the other hand web pages that are too text heavy can appear both boring and daunting to users. If you have a large amount of information you wish to convey to your visitors you may need to break up the information into sections and then have a separate page that focuses on each of these sections.

Minimum & Maxiimum Requirements Per Web Page
Min     Max
Text250 words1000 words
Pictures0 pictures  9 pictures
This is a rough guideline only.

If you wish to include more or less per page this is not a problem but it may affect the performance of your site (e.g. if you have too many images your page can be slow to load for some visitors to your site). If you have any questions please contact us on
